Movies 5 days/week, jam session weekly in this renovated Art Deco theatre in the middle of Downtown Mount Airy, walking distance from the Andy Griffith Museum.
The Hall features artifacts and portraits of Surry County Old-Time Music pioneers. The Earle Theatre, built in 1937, is the site of the 2nd longest continuously running live radio broadcast in the nation, the Merry-Go-Round, held every Saturday at 11:00am.
In 1957, the Historic Earle Theatre hosted a premiere of A Face in the Crowd , Andy Griffith's first movie.
The Historic Earle Theatre currently shows multiple weekly features on digital projection equipment with surround sound.
